31 day challenge
OUR MISSION IS TO SEE EVERY CHURCH, EVERY BELIEVER, MAKING DISCIPLES THAT MAKE DISCIPLES….
IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
The Church began to awaken! We started to open our eyes and see the lost and hurting, we began to see those in need of a loving God! We woke up to the fact that our mission is the Great Commission. To make disciples that make disciples. We began to see our calling is not just another church service, but to GO! Our goal is to awaken our neighbors, the people we work with and do recreation with. To show them the good news of the gospel of Jesus. We only meet to know, grow and GO!
Imagine Clark Kent (Superman) If the world was perfect and there was no bad guys. He would simply be Clark Kent a news reporter who writes stories about how beautiful the flowers are growing or how many great coffee shops there are popping around the city. He would have no Mission, he would never step into the phone booth and rip off his shirt to reveal the blue suit with a red cape with the big red S on it. He would never fly, he would never save the car with a mom and the four kids from going over the bridge on their way to death. He would never stop the bank robbers or the men trying to take over the world! He would just be the news reporter!
Imagine Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) in Mission Impossible. If there was none who told him to go to a certain place and receive his mission. The movie would be a complete flop, you would simply see him hanging out in some remote Island in the South Pacific drinking Mai Tai’s and getting a tan. There would be no action, no bad guys take out, no one to save the world from the terrorists.
We are the Church, and just like Superman or Ethan Hunt we have a Mission! Our mission is the Great Commission. We must be equipped, have the tools and know how to do that mission. Just like Superman, he has the ability and has the super powers to do so. Like Ethan Hunt, he was trained for years to do the missions. He has weapons and gadgets and skills to accomplish the mission. We too must be trained and equipped to do our mission. That is the goal of this challenge is to train and equip the Saints for the work of the Mission or Ministry.
The issue with most people is we had know idea that we are greater than Superman, or Ethan Hunt. We have the God of the Universe that lives inside each and every one of us as Christians. We are now supernatural beings in Christ. Superman deals with the physical things and mortal things. We have the ability to deal with eternal things. When we Go and someone gets saved and discipled, we are dealing with the eternal well being of that person. We are able through Christ to Bind the broken hearted, set the captive free, give liberty to those in bondage. We are by grace through faith, offering eternal life in Christ Jesus! They can now be free from sin and death! Yet we walk about life and never really realize that Christ is wanting us to live on a Mission. To seek and save that which is lost, to Go make disciples! That is the Mission of every believer.
We ask, what is my purpose? It is to Go make disciples. What is my destiny? Romans 8:29 Tells us that your destiny is to be like Jesus! Now that you know that your destiny is to be formed into the image of Christ and your purpose is to have others imitate you because you are like Christ as Paul said. Now it is your responsibility to be and to GO. You may ask, How? Well, every Thursday night you can come and be equipped. You will have the tools, training and support to Go! Join us now!
Eph 4: 11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds[c] and teachers,[d] 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[e] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
